Minor League Report: Eric Pardinho continued to pitch well, Arjun Nimmala hit his second home run of the season, and more!

It was a good day in the Blue Jays organization.
All but one affiliate in the system won, with the two teams in the lower-minors combining for four home runs.
Let’s take a look at the latest Minor League Report.

Buffalo scored double-digit runs

One thing is certain about the 2024 Buffalo Bisons: they’re going to score runs. On Friday evening, the team won 10-4, bringing their record to 17-13 for the second best record in the International League East.
A few days ago, I wrote an article about why it’s time to call Spencer Horwitz up, and he proved my point on Friday, finishing with three base hits and four RBI in six at-bats. He’s now slashing .350 for the season, and was one of five batters with a multi-hit game.
Steward Berroa also had a three hit game, all singles, while Rafael Lantigua, Brian Serven, and Leo Jimenez all had two hit games. Lantigua and Jimenez were two of three batters with an extra-base, as Damiano Palmegiani also had a double. Will Robertson and Payton Henry also had a hit.
Andrew Bash started the game for the Bisons, finishing with a line of 4 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K to bring his season ERA to 4.76. Hayden Juenger had his best outing of the season, striking out five batters in two innings. 
Mike Mayers gave up an earned run, a walk, and struck out a batter in his inning of work, while Brandon Eisert struck out two batters, while giving up a walk and an earned run. Hagen Danner pitched a clean inning, bringing his season ERA to 3.09.

New Hampshire lost another close game

New Hampshire was the only affiliate to lose on Friday, falling 4-3 to the Somerset Patriots to bring their record to 11-14.
Devonte Brown had the Fisher Cats’ only extra-base hit, a double. While Garrett Spain (who hit his fifth home run on Thursday) and Andres Sosa both had multi-hit games. Josh Kasevich and Riley Tirotta had the team’s other hits.
Trent Palmer started the game and was tagged with the loss, giving up four earned runs and walks while striking out two in three innings of work. Adrián Hernández walked three and struck out two in two thirds of an inning of work. Ryan Boyer struck out a batter in his third of an inning, while CJ Van Eyk pitched three innings, giving up four hits, three walks, and striking out two while not giving up an earned run.
Eric Pardinho continued to build on his career renaissance season, striking out the side in his inning of work. This brought his season ERA to 2.79, with a 2.02 FIP, a 33.3 K%, and a 2.4 BB% in 9.2 innings pitched.

Vancouver hit three home runs

For the third time in four games, the Vancouver Canadians defeated the Tri-City Dust Devils, bringing their record to 10-11.
It was a home run party for the Canadians, as Dasan Brown, Jackson Hornung, and Brennan Orf all hit their second home runs of the season. All three of these players also had multi-hit games.
Jommer Hernandez and Brown also had doubles, while Jeffrey Wehler, Dylan Rock, and Estiven Machado all had a single.
Kevin Miranda started and finished with a line of 5 IP, 3, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K with a home run given up, bringing his season ERA to 3.57. Alex Amalfi gave up two earned runs and struck out two in his inning of work, while Grayson Thurman struck out three in his two innings of work. Justin Kelly picked up the save, striking out the side in the bottom of the ninth.

Dunedin was led to a win by Arjun Nimmala

It’s been a rough few weeks for the Dunedin Blue Jays, but they picked up a 5-2 win over the Tampa Tarpons on Friday to bring their record to 5-2.
Arjun Nimmala hit his second home run of the season and also had a multi-hit day, adding a double. The other player with a double was Jean Joseph, while Manuel Beltre had the other multi-hit game, two singles. Byrce Arnold picked up the team’s other hit.
Fernando Pérez had another excellent start, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K to bring his season ERA to 3.65. Over his last two starts, he’s pitched 11 innings, striking out 17 batters (41.5 K%) and owning a 1.64 ERA and a 1.36 FIP.
Kai Peterson pitched three innings, striking out five batters and walking one. He also gave up an unearned run. Eliander Alcalde picked up the save, pitching a clean inning.
