Another day, another edition of the Minor League Report.

It’s April, which means that games are often postponed due the not-so-nice weather. For the third day in a row, at least one affiliate didn’t play because of the weather. Still, the three Blue Jays teams in action had good days.

<h2>New Hampshire Fisher Cats’ comeback win</h2>
In the top of the fourth inning, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats were down 7-1, and were later down 8-3, but were able to crawl back and defeat the Somerset Patriots 10-8 to move their record to 5-1.

There were two home runs from Fisher Cats players, as Garrett Spain hit his second home run of the season, while Glenn Santiago hit his first Double-A home run. Santiago also had a double, as did Gabriel Martinez and Zach Britton, who had two.

In total, there were 15 hits. Santiago had three of them, falling a triple shy of the cycle, while Josh Kasevich had four hits, all singles, and is now batting .500 on the season. Alan Roden also had two singles, while Britton had two doubles.
Other players with a hit were Alex De Jesus and Miguel Hiraldo, with Michael Turconi the only Fisher Cat without a hit.
Michael Domignuez had a rough day at the office, finishing with a line of 4 IP, 8 H, 7 ER, 1 BB, 0 K with four home runs given up. He’s usually pretty nails on the rubber and I’d expect him to bounce back in his next start. Alejandro Melean also ate some innings, giving up a run and striking out a batter in four innings of work.
Jimmy Burnette picked up the save, pitching a clean inning with no strikeouts. The left-handed pitcher’s ERA in Double-A this season remains at 0.
<h2>Vancouver Canadians split the double header</h2>
The first “Nooner at the Nat” featured not just one game, but two! In the first game, the Vancouver Canadians shutout the Hillsboro Hops 2-0, before losing the second game 5-2. Starting with the first game…
The Canadians had just five hits on the day, with Ryan McCarty picking up the only extra-base hit and the only multi-hit game, finishing the day with a single, a triple and two RBI. Other batters with a hit were Jeffrey Wehler, Brennan Orf, and Jackson Hornung. Moreover, Nick Goodwin walked twice in this game, more on him in the second game.
Geison Urbaez made his first High-A start, finishing with a line of 4 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, while left-handed pitcher Naswell Paulino picked up the win, allowing a hit and striking out a batter in his inning of work.
Josh Mollerus struck out two batters in his inning of work, while Justin Kelly picked up the save, as he struck out a batter and allowed a hit in the top of the seventh.
However, the second game didn’t go as well for the Canadians, falling 5-2 to the Seattle Mariners affiliate. This time, they only had three hits, with Ryan McCarty once again picking up a multi-hit game with a double and a single. Nick Goodwin hit his second home run of the season, driving in Vancouver’s two runs of the game (and walked twice again). They only had three hits.

Ryan Jennings started the game, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER (4 R), 1 BB, 6 K, with a home run given up. Alex Amalfi gave up an earned run and walked a batter, but struck out two in his inning of work. Rafael Ohashi, one of three Brazilians in the Jays’ organization, made his High-A debut and struck out a batter in his clean inning of work.
<h2>Dunedin Blue Jays can’t stop winning</h2>
With an 11-2 win over the Tampa Tarpons, the Dunedin Blue Jays have now moved their record to 6-1 for first in the Florida State League. They are a problem.
Yhoangel Aponte had a rough game on Thursday, striking out four times in four plate appearances. However, he went 4-5 with two doubles, a triple, and 3 RBI, falling just a home run shy of the cycle.
Other batters with a hit were Manuel Beltre, Canadian Bryce Arnold, and Yeuni Munoz, who drove in three runs. The D-Jays also drew three walks, with Edward Duran drawing three of them. Beltre had two walks, while Arnold, Ricardo Balogh, and the rehabbing Riley Tirotta each had one.
