There were four affiliates in action on Sunday, and all four lost.

Overall, it wasn’t a great day for the “A” affiliates, as the upper-minor teams were either blown out or shut out, while the lower-minor teams lost late.

<h2>Buffalo lost big</h2>
The good news is that the Buffalo Bisons scored six runs. The bad news is the Worcester Red Sox doubled them up with 12 runs. Buffalo’s record now sits at 35-34.
Yariel Rodríguez made his final rehab start, finishing with a line of 3+ IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 7 K, being tagged with the loss, <a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/news/yariel-rodriguez-threw-79-pitches-with-seven-strikeouts-in-his-latest-rehab-appearance">but more on that in this article</a>. Luis Quiñones gave up six earned runs in a third of an inning, while Beau Sulser gave up three earned runs in an inning and two thirds.

Hayden Juenger only gave up an earned run in his inning, with the bullpen finally getting outs after, as Mason Fluharty struck out two in an inning and a third, while Ryan Burr struck out four in an inning and two thirds.
The Bisons’ player of the game was Orelvis Martinez. He hit his 16th home run of the season, which leads the organization. On top of that, he also hit his 14th double of the season, while Rafael Lantigua and Max McDowell also hit a double. The latter had a three-hit performance, and Cam Eden hit his first triple of the season.

<h2>New Hampshire shut out</h2>
It wasn’t a great game for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, as they fell 5-0 to the Richmond Flying Squirrels in the season final, bringing their season record to 28-35.
Rainer Nuñez accounted for basically all of the Fisher Cats offence, as he had three hits including a double, the team’s only extra-base hit. Garrett Spain and Zach Britton each had a single, with the latter walking once, as did Devonte Brown.
It certainly wasn’t a bad start for Michael Dominguez, who finished with a line of 5 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K to bring his season ERA to 4.13. Abdeil Mendoza gave up an earned run and struck out four in two innings pitched. Justin Kelly allowed two earned runs in a third of an inning in what was his worst outing in Double-A, while Ryan Boyer pitched a clean inning and two thirds.

<h2>Vancouver lost in extra innings</h2>
The Vancouver Canadians had a chance to take over the Northwest League with a good series against Spokane. However, a 5-4 loss in 10 innings saw the Canadians drop six of seven against Colorado’s High-A affiliate, giving them a 27-32 record with a few games remaining in the first half.
That doesn’t mean that bats were cold, far from that in fact. Peyton Williams hit his first home run of the season for the Canadians and also had two singles. The 2022 draftee missed the first portion of the season due to an injury.

Grayson Thurman pitched an inning with a hit, a walk, and a strikeout, while Johnathan Lavallee allowed an earned run in his inning of work. Josh Mollerus was tagged with the loss, but he struck out four and allowed an unearned run in the top of the tenth in two innings pitched.
<h2>Dunedin gave up two runs in the ninth</h2>
Heading into the ninth, the Dunedin Blue Jays had a 3-2 lead, but gave up two runs to fall 4-3 to the Bradenton Marauders, moving their season record to 32-31.
Despite the late lead, there weren&#8217;t many hits for the team, as Yeuni Munoz had a single, while Manuel Beltre had two. Walks accounted for most of the team’s offence, as both those players had two walks, as did Canadian Bryce Arnold. In total, the team had 11 walks, with Jean Joseph, Alexis Hernandez, Daniel Pérez, Edward Duran, and Cristian Feliz all getting a free pass.
Gage Stanifer made the start and finished with a line of 4.1 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 2 K to bring his season ERA to 3.90. It wasn’t his best start in recent times, but he gave his team a chance to win. Kai Peterson continues to torch Single-A batters, striking out six batters in an inning and a third. J.J. Sanchez walked a batter but pitched a scoreless third of an inning.
