The Blue Jays organization just barely avoided being swept on Wednesday.

Overall, the four teams in actions, all “A” affiliates, went 1-3, as the rookie league teams were off. A team increased their win streak, while another team was blown out.

<h2>Buffalo fell to 0-2 in the second-half</h2>
On Wednesday, the Buffalo Bisons fell 7-4 to the Syracuse Mets to bring their second-half record to 0-2, as well as their season record to 37-39.
Half of their hits were of the extra-base variety. Damiano Palmegiani hit his seventh double of the season, Miguel Hiraldo hit his first Triple-A double, and Gabriel Cancel hit his first double in the Blue Jays organization.

Moreover, Will Robertson hit his first triple of the season, while Leo Jimenez, Alan Roden, Rafael Lantigua, and Micahel Turconi each hit a single. Max McDowell had two RBIs thanks to two ground balls.

Chad Dallas made the start for the Bisons and had a good start, finishing with a line of 5 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K to bring his season ERA to 5.55. Erik Swanson gave up another home run, bringing his Triple-A ERA to 16.03, but he picked up a hold in the process.
Hayden Juenger was tagged with the loss and blown save, giving up two earned runs in his inning pitched. Recently acquired José Cuas also gave up two earned runs in two thirds of an inning. Brandon Eisert got an out in his third of an inning, while Troy Watson gave up a home run in his inning of work.
<h2>New Hampshire blown out 12-6</h2>
The bats weren’t the problem for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, as they combined for 16 hits in their 12-6 defeat. Their second-half record now sits at 1-1.
Ryan McCarty continued to be a bright spot in the organization, as he hit his fifth home run in New Hampshire and his 10th of the season, matching his career-high he set last season. He also hit a double, one of many multi-hit games.

Zach Britton had the team’s other extra-base hit, his fourth home run of the season to get the Fisher Cats on the board early. He also had a two-hit performance. Josh Kasevich had two singles, while Rainer Nuñez, Devonte Brown, and Garrett Spain all had three-single performances. Gabriel Martinez also hit a single.

Pitching wasn’t great for the Fisher Cats though. For the first time in a while, Adam Macko had a rough start, finishing with a line of 4.1 IP, 6 H, 7 ER, 4 BB, 5 K to bring his season ERA to 4.42. Anders Tolhurst also got roughed up, giving up four earned runs in an inning pitched.
The bullpen settled down after that though, as Adrián Hernández struck out the two batters he faced. T.J. Brock gave up an earned run in his inning of work, while Andrew Bechtold struck out two in his inning.
<h2>Vancouver is 5-0 in the second-half</h2>
The Vancouver Canadians remained undefeated in the second-half, as they defeated the Hillsboro Hops 3-1 to bring the second-half record to 5-0. Moreover, they are 35-33 in the season.
Despite the low-scoring affair, the Canadians had a ton of hits, finishing with 12. Je’Von Ward hit his second double in the organization while posting a three-hit performance. Jackson Hornung had the other team’s double, his seventh of the season.
Jamari Baylor also had a three-hit performance, while Jeffrey Wehler and Estiven Machado each had two singles. Dylan Rock also had a single.
Pat Gallagher had a terrific start, going seven strong innings with seven hits allowed, as well as two walks and two strikeouts to bring his season ERA to 5.04. This was the second consecutive game with a Canadians’ starter pitching seven innings.
Chay Yeager gave up an earned run and two walks in his third of an inning, leading to Josh Mollerus striking out four in an inning and two thirds to pick up his fourth save.

On Wednesday, the Dunedin Blue Jays fell 4-2 to the Lakeland Flying Tigers to bring their second-half record to 2-2.
Ricky Tiedemann made a rehab appearance, striking out five in 2.1 innings, along with two walks. Irv Carter pitched a clean inning and a third to bring his season ERA to 3.38.  Jorge Bautista was tagged with the loss and blown save, finishing with a line of 4 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K.

Unlike the three other levels, it was a quiet day with the bats, as they mustered just three hits. Yeuni Munoz hit his third double of the season for the team’s only extra-base hit, while Victor Arias and Adrian Meza had the two other hits. Nicolas Deschamps picked up the only walk for the team.
