It was a season to forget for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, as they finished the year with a 52-84 record for a .382 winning percentage. In the first half, they had a 30-38 record and a 22-46 record in the second half.

To end the month of September, we’re going to take a look at how minor league teams in the Toronto Blue Jays system did in 2024, as well as their top performers. In this article, we’ll look at the Double-A Fisher Cats.
<h2>Position players</h2>
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats’ best players didn’t stay on the team long. Riley Tirotta led the team with a 159 wRC+ while slashing .286/.438/.464 with two home runs. Before being called up to Triple-A, Alan Roden slashed .267/.373/.432 with seven home runs in 244 plate appearances for a 133 wRC+. 
Catcher Phil Clarke slashed .307/.421/.366 with no home runs in 121 plate appearances. Like the other three players, Josh Kasevich moved to Triple-A, but not before slashing .284/.333/.364 with three home runs in 383 plate appearances.
In the second-half of the season, the Fisher Cats received some reinforcements from the trade deadline. RJ Schreck was the best of the bunch, slashing .255/.377/.521 with five home runs in 114 plate appearances for a 153 wRC+. Charles McAdoo slashed .185/.287/.323 with three home runs in 143 plate appearances.

Yohendrick Piñango struggled once joining the Fisher Cats, slashing .179/.244/.274 with a home run in 127 plate appearances. Eddinson Paulino played the final four games of the season for New Hampshire, finishing with five hits in 17 plate appearances.
The Fisher Cats also had some former top 30 prospects struggle in 2024. Cade Doughty spent most of the season injured, but slashed .213/.248/.287 with a home run in 114 plate appearances. Gabriel Martinez slashed .212/.270/.322 with six home runs in 397 plate appearances. Moreover, Miguel Hiraldo was released after slashing .227/.286/.299 with one home run in 168 plate appearances.
There were also some other notable players on the roster. Rainer Nuñez had a nice bounce-back season, slashing .275/.349/.416 with 12 home runs in 433 plate appearances, finishing the season with a 121 wRC+.

Alex De Jesus did alright in his first test in the upper-minors, slashing .260/.328/.377 with eight home runs in 425 plate appearances, along with an 8.2 BB% and a 28 K% for a 105 wRC+. Dasan Brown slashed .217/.284/.302 in 119 plate appearances for a 72 wRC+, but was much better in Vancouver.

Only one pure starter finished with an ERA below 4, as Trenton Wallace had a 2.68 ERA and a 4.37 FIP in 80.2 innings pitched, with a 29.8 K% and a 9.2 BB%.

Devereaux Harrison led the entire minor league system with innings pitched, firing 131.2 innings with a 4.65 ERA and a 4.75 FIP, along with a 19.5 K% and a 9.7 BB%. Michael Dominguez fell just shy of reaching 100 innings pitched with the Fisher Cats, finishing with a 4.56 ERA and a 5.75 FIP in 96.2 innings pitched.
Although his ERA wasn’t great, Adam Macko was the Fisher Cats’ highest ceiling prospect, as he finished with a 4.87 ERA and a 3.72 FIP in 81.1 innings pitched, along with a 26.4 K% and an 8.8 BB%. More importantly, he stayed healthy and dropped the walk rate further. Rafael Sánchez had a 2.28 ERA and a 4.90 FIP in 23.2 innings pitched.

Fellow Cuban Lazaro Estrada came up from the Vancouver Canadians midway through the season and finished with a 4.47 ERA and a 3.42 FIP in 52.1 innings pitched, along with a 25 K% and an 8.6 BB%. Braydon Fisher was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers for Cavan Biggio, and he had a 2.76 ERA and a 2.83 FIP in 16.1 innings pitched with the Fisher Cats.
Eric Pardinho was the team’s best reliever this season, finishing the year in New Hampshire with a 1.01 ERA and a 2.22 FIP in 26.2 innings pitched. From April 24 until June 15, his final game in New Hampshire, Pardinho didn’t allow an earned run in 22 innings pitched, along with a 40 K% and an 11.3 BB%. We’ll talk about Pardinho in Buffalo’s review as well.

Pardinho wasn’t the only successful reliever in the Fisher Cats’ pen. Ryan Jennings had a 0.90 ERA and a 3.08 FIP in 10 innings pitched, Justin Kelly had a 2.30 ERA and a 3.44 FIP in 15.2 innings pitched, Adrian Hernández had a 3.04 ERA and a 4.27 ERA in 47.1 innings pitched, Abdiel Mendoza had a 3.62 ERA and a 4.27 FIP in 82 innings pitched, and Ryan Boyer had a 2.08 ERA and a 3.28 FIP in 30.1 innings pitched.
Hopefully, next season will be better for the Fisher Cats.
