Say it ain’t so, Bo.
According to Bob Nightengale with USA Today, rival baseball executives believe Mets SS/3B Bo Bichette is leaning towards leaving the New York Mets organization after the 2026 season.
Bichette signed a 3-year, $126 million contract with opt-outs after each season, paying him an AAV of $42 million a season.
Unfortunately, Bichette’s 2026 has been tough as he is only hitting .236/283/361 with a .644 OPS across 70 games with the Mets. Those numbers are among the worst of his time in the big leagues and have the lowest WAR (-0.5) in his career.
Despite the struggling numbers, Bichette is thriving in the last several weeks as he is hitting .304 with three home runs and 13 RBIS in his last two weeks. While there is still time to change the course of his regular season, Bichette could be one of the top headliners for free agency this winter in the context of hitters.
Where do you see Bo Bichette landing should he test the waters again in 2026?
