It was reported late Tuesday evening that 10th-rounder Josh Mollerus had signed a bonus of $47,500, well below the $166,200 slot value.

The 23-year-old righty transferred from the University of San Francisco to the University of Oregon for his fifth and final year of college. With the Pac-12 team, he posted a 3.44 ERA in 36.2 innings pitched, along with a 31.9 K% and a 10.2 BB%. His 11 saves were tied for the most in the conference.
In his five years pitching in the NCAA, he had a 5.14 ERA, along with a 23.8 K% and an 8.3 BB% in 171.2 innings pitched.
Mollerus is a fastball, changeup, slider guy, with the heater sitting 91-95 mph. The biggest concern with his game is the command and control of his pitches, which he’ll need to clean up as he enters the pro ranks.

The 23-year-old reliever was the second last draft prospect selected in the first ten rounds to be announced.The bonus pool remaining now sits at $999,632. Juaron Watts-Brown is the last player in the first ten rounds who has yet to be signed. The slot value for the 89th overall pick is $771,500.
This means that the remaining bonus could be used to over-slot Watts-Brown, or potentially used to sign a third-day draft pick such as Sam Kulasingam. Players chosen from rounds 11-20 have an automatic slot value of $150,000. If the bonus stays at or below that number, is doesn’t count towards the pool. However, if the bonus is over $150,000, whatever amount exceeds the slot value for those picks will be deducted from the bonus pool.
For example, if Kulasingam signs to a $300,000 bonus, only $150,000 would be deducted from the bonus pool.
