The injuries continue to pile up as Rowdy Tellez is dealing with right knee discomfort

The good news: the Blue Jays beat the Yankees and can sweep the series tomorrow. The bad news: they might be without Rowdy Tellez.
During the game, Rowdy went out into the right-field area to catch a pop-up and stepped on a soft spot in the Blue Jays’ bullpen, resulting in him getting taken out with some knee discomfort. He’ll reportedly have an MRI done on Wednesday.
As of right now, the two best Blue Jays’ hitters in terms of on-base plus slugging, Bo Bichette and Teoscar Hernandez, are injured. Tellez ranks third on the Jays in OPS, so losing him would mean the Jays have three of their most effective bats out of the lineup at the same time.
Bo Bichette is supposed to be back soon, so that’s a plus, but losing Rowdy, who’s somewhat quietly put together a really, really good season at the plate, would be unfortunate. It’s a lot like the Teoscar Hernandez situation where you hate to see a guy’s breakout performance get de-railed.
Let’s hope it isn’t serious.
