A Toronto Blue Jays minor leaguer has been issued a 6-game ban for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

Pitcher Ivan Gonzales, who played for the Jays&#8217; Dominican Summer League team, was busted after Stanozolol was found in his system.

According to drugs.com, Stanozolol is &#8220;a man-made steroid, similar to the naturally occurring steroid testosterone.&#8221; It can be used for treatment of &#8220;hereditary angioedema, which causes episodes of swelling of the face, extremities, genitals, bowel wall, and throat.&#8221;
The Jays signed him as a free agent to a minor league contract on Jan. 15 of this year and was assigned to the DSL Jays on June 4. This year, he&#8217;s thrown just 3.0 IP allowing seven hits and seven earned runs while issuing four walks, but has fanned five batters.
