Eric Pardinho and three other former Blue Jay prospects help Ottawa Titans win Frontier League Championship

Four former Toronto Blue Jays are champions.
On Saturday evening, the Frontier League’s Ottawa Titans defeated the Evansville Otters, winning their first championship since their inception in 2020. As an Ottawan, it’s a pretty big deal, and it’s even better that four former Blue Jays, Eric Pardinho, Rainer Nuñez, Kevin Miranda, and Brett Garcia helped the team win it all.
Of the four, Pardinho is the most notable of the bunch as he was once considered a top 100 prospect in baseball. While injuries derailed his career, especially early, the Brazilian right-handed pitcher posted a 3.63 ERA in 81.2 innings of work with the Titans. 
Pardinho started Game 1 of the Championship Series, giving up three earned runs over six innings of work in a 6-0 loss, the lone loss the Titans suffered in the postseason. However, he made up for it in the decisive Game 4, retiring the final three outs to clinch the championship.
Nuñez had 13 plate appearances in the postseason, but failed to notch a hit, instead drawing two walks and earning one RBI. That said, the first baseman found success in limited regular season action, slashing .444/.474/.639 with a home run and 16 hits in 38 plate appearances. Nuñez is a former top 30 Blue Jays’ prospect, and he was in the organization from 2018 until 2025.
Garcia pitched in nine innings in the postseason, giving up just one earned run while striking out 16 of the 36 batters he faced for a 44.4 K%. In the regular season, Garcia appeared in 41 games and finished with a 2.08 ERA in 43.1 innings of work. Garcia pitched just one season in the Blue Jays’ organization, appearing in 15 games in 2025.
Unfortunately, Miranda didn’t appear in a postseason game as he’s currently on the 60-day injured list. However,  he appeared in 16 Frontier League games during the regular season, authoring a 5.76 ERA in 45.1 innings of work. His tenure in the Blue Jays’ system lasted from 2023 until 2025.
Along the way, the Titans set an all-time record for attendance. On Opening Day, 10,278 tickets were sold, a Frontier League record. That was barely broken with 10,303 individuals attending Game 3 of the Championship Series.
The Titans are the fourth tenant of Ottawa Stadium since the International League’s Ottawa Lynx relocated in 2007. With the championship win, it’s hard to see the stadium get a new tenant for a long time.
