The Toronto Blue Jays will look to avoid losing three of their last four series with a matchup on Saturday.
Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers didn’t go great. They had their chances to score early in the game, including the bases loaded with one out in the top of the second, but a lineout and double play ended that threat. Mookie Betts hit a two-run home run to take the lead, and Brendon Little struggled once he replaced Max Scherzer in the seventh.
It’s been tough sledding for the Blue Jays since the Detroit series. They dropped three of four Baltimore Orioles, as well as two of three to the Kansas City Royals. Of course, they smashed the Colorado Rockies, but were brought back to earth in Friday’s matchup.
Starting the game for the Dodgers is Blake Snell, who will make his fourth start of the season. Chris Bassitt goes for the Blue Jays, and so far this season on the road, the veteran right-handed pitcher has a 6.45 ERA in 51.2 innings pitched. Hopefully, he has a good game on Saturday.
With a lefty on the mound, Davis Schneider leads off, followed by Ernie Clement and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Bo Bichette hits cleanup, followed by Alejandro Kirk and Ty France. Daulton Varsho is the only left-handed batter in the lineup, with Buddy Kennedy and Myles Straw batting after him.
