Blue Jays outright Daz Cameron to Triple-A Buffalo, claim catcher Shawn Ross off waivers

The Toronto Blue Jays have retained some outfield depth. 
On Saturday morning, per the MLB transaction log, Daz Cameron cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo. 
Cameron, who was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on September 1, has already been outrighted this season, so he has the right to reject the assignment and head to free agency. 
Signed by the Blue Jays to a minor-league deal in July, Cameron had his contract selected by the club on August 15 and appeared in eight games with Toronto. Through his eight games, Cameron batted .208 with one home run and three RBIs. 
In 23 games with the Bisons this season, Cameron batted .367 with three home runs and 15 RBIs. The 29-year-old stole 10 bases in 12 attempts and reached base at a .462 clip. 
Also on Saturday, the Blue Jays claimed catcher Shawn Ross off waivers from the New York Mets and optioned him to Triple-A to join the Bisons. 
This will be Ross’ third organization during the 2026 campaign, as the 26-year-old was previously claimed by the Mets off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 2. 
Through 70 games this season between Double-A and Triple-A, Ross is batting .184 with 11 home runs and 29 RBIs. Ross has reached base at a .333 clip and stolen three bases in four attempts. 
In two games with the Pirates this season, Ross went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBIs. After losing Willie McIver earlier this season, Ross will provide catching depth in Triple-A for the Blue Jays organization.
