Blue Jays select Eric Snow 172nd overall

The Toronto Blue Jays have selected a utility infielder in the sixth round of the 2025 MLB Draft.
On Monday afternoon, the Blue Jays drafted Eric Snow with the 172nd overall pick. The shortstop attended Auburn University in 2025.
Snow doesn’t rank as an MLB Pipeline top 250 draft prospect, but it was noted on the draft broadcast that he profiles as a utility infielder who’d be best as a second baseman in an everyday role. He doesn’t have a standout tool, but he makes good contact and is a line drive hitter while controlling the zone well.
The infielder ranked as Baseball America’s 462nd-best draft prospect, with the publication noting that he’s “an excellent contact hitter” and doesn’t chase pitches outside the zone. He’s not a quick runner, and due to his 5’8″, 188 lbs frame, he has limited power. Moreover, Snow has a fringe arm.
Snow is a 21-year-old from Roswell, Georgia. He started his collegiate career with the University of South Florida, where he slashed .343/.418/526 with eight home runs in 246 plate appearances for a 130 wRC+ in 2023.
In his second season with South Florida, Snow slashed .258/.345/.335 with a home run in 178 plate appearances for a 70 wRC+. Snow transferred to Auburn University for the 2025 season, where he slashed .307/.403/.493 with eight home runs in 253 plate appearances for a 103 wRC+.
Snow won the 2023 Freshman All-American, the 2023 American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, the 2023 First Team All-AAC, and the 2023 AAC All-Freshman Team during his collegiate career, all in his freshman season
The slot value for this pick is $383,600. There’s a possibility that he’s an underslot pick, as he wasn’t a top prospect coming into this draft. That said, he’s the type of player the Blue Jays organization loves, as he’s versatile and a good hitter. If he signs, you can expect him to head to Single-A Dunedin.
