The <a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/">Toronto Blue Jays</a> needed a series like they had against the Athletics.

In all four games, the Blue Jays scored no fewer than eight runs, winning Thursday’s game 12-0. The second inning saw them score eight runs, as Ernie Clement, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and George Springer all hit home runs.

<a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/news/instant-reaction-toronto-blue-jays-walk-11-times-double-digit-runs-second-straight-night-athletics">Friday saw the Blue Jays win 11-7</a>, with Clement hitting his second home run in as many games, as well as Addison Barger hitting his third home run of the season. Their pitching did just enough to win this game, their third consecutive win.
Saturday’s game was much closer, as the Jays pulled out an 8-7 win. Both teams had multiple runs in the first inning, with Barger hitting his second home run in as many games. Bichette and George Springer also hit home runs, with the latter hitting two of them. It was a bullpen day, but Easton Lucas ate four and one-third innings without giving up a run. Jeff Hofmann gave up a two-run homer in the top of the ninth, but the Jays pulled out the victory.
The Jays had a chance to sweep the four-game series, doing just that with an <a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/news/instant-reaction-toronto-blue-jays-sweep-athletics-thanks-late-addison-barger-home-run">8-4 victory on Sunday</a>. Down 4-2 in the bottom of the eighth, the Jays had a massive inning, scoring six runs. They took the lead with Barger’s third home run in as many games to move to 31-28.
This was easily the best series of the season for the Jays’ offence. All but one player, Ali Sanchez, finished with a wRC+ above 100. Michael Stefanic, Davis Schneider, Anthony Santander, and Daulton Varsho had limited plate appearances, <a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/news/blue-jays-anthony-santander-10-day-il-recall-alan-roden-triple-a-buffalo">with the latter two players being placed on the 15-day Injured List during the series</a>.
Clement had a great series, finishing with a .611 batting average and a 418 wRC+. Barger and Springer each hit three home runs in the series, giving them a 324 and 264 wRC+, respectively.  Despite not hitting a home run, Alejandro Kirk had a strong series, finishing with a .545 batting average. Bichette hit two home runs, with Myles Straw, Nathan Lukes, and Jonatan Clase all having a good series.
<a href="https://bluejaysnation.com/news/overshadowed-offences-12-run-explosion-jose-berrios-best-performance-2025-against-struggling-as">Jose Berrios had a strong start</a>, not allowing an earned run in the six innings that he pitched. Kevin Gausman gave up three earned runs in four and two-thirds innings, while Chris Bassitt gave up five earned runs in five innings of work. Braydon Fisher got Saturday’s start, giving up five earned runs in an inning and a third &#8211; the only earned runs he’s given up in his big league career.
Erik Swanson made his season debut, giving up an earned run in his inning of work. Jeff Hoffman and Chad Green each gave up two earned runs in two innings of work. Easton Lucas, Mason Fluharty, Jose Urena, Yariel Rodriguez, and Brendon Little all had scoreless outings, a good sign.
The next Blue Jays series is a step up in competition, as they host the 36-23 Philadelphia Phillies for a three-game series starting Tuesday.
