Toronto Blue Jays transfer reliever Hagen Danner to 60-day IL

The Toronto Blue Jays have transferred Hagen Danner to the 60-day injured list weeks after he landed on the 15-day IL. In his major league debut, Danner generated on fly out against the Chicago Cubs on August 11, but eventually exited the game with a left oblique strain while facing his second batter.
The 24-year-old rookie pitcher has only made one appearance for the Blue Jays thus far. For the 2023 season in the minors, Danner posted a 3.66 ERA and 3.26 FIP in 39.1 innings pitched with a 12.8 K% and 2.5 BB%. Specifically, during this time with the Buffalo Bisons, Danner generated a 3.88 ERA with a 0.957 WHIP in 28.1 innings pitched. 
Prior to his injury, Danner was deemed a potentially valuable contributor to the Blue Jays bullpen. While his recovery for the 2023 season is uncertain, Danner could potentially make a comeback in the 2024 season as a key contributor if all goes well. 
Danner was drafted by the Jays in the 2nd round of the 2017 draft.
With Danner landing on the IL, the Jays made a few other moves official Friday adding reliever Chad Green and first baseman Spencer Horwitz to the active roster. Green has been working his way back from Tommy John Surgery that the 32-year-old right-hander underwent last June. In rehab assignments, Green allowed only one earned run across 12 appearances between Low-A Dunedin and Triple-A Buffalo.
Horwtiz, meanwhile, earned his second call-up this season having had a previous stint in June. He went 2-for-8 with an RBI and two walks.
