Future Yankee Jose Bautista (TM), as we all know, goes to great lengths to keep himself in top physical shape. It’s a necessity given his age and desire for a contract that has the Yankees (OK, or whoever — maybe even the Jays!) pay him huge dollars into his 40s.

You may have noticed that it also means that he has some odd looking stretches and workout routines that he does — often on the field before games. The Philly Phanatic certainly did! And, in case you missed it over the weekend, it’s given us what’s got to be an early frontrunner for the most delightful video of the spring.

Of course, when I say that I must acknowledge that I have all the time for the Phanatic. Maybe that’s just me.

But no. This is seriously great.

Oh man, Bautista is so, so great. And if I were a gambler, I’d wager we see more of this cheeky, PR-friendly version of Bautista here in his contract year.

If so, you won’t hear me complaining.

Now pay the man! (Then adjust the budget north to accommodate it, obviously.)
