We return to a high school position player!

Today’s prospect, Aidan Miller, could be a sure-fire 10-15th pick according to the majority of mock drafts. However, in Baseball America’s mock draft 3.0, he is picked 33rd overall, while ESPN’s Kiley Daniel picked him 19th overall, one pick before the Jays.
So today, we’ll learn about the high school third baseman, and look at his strengths and weaknesses.
<h1>Aidan Miller’s bio:</h1>
The 19-year-old baseman stands at 6’2”, 205 lbs and is committed to the University of Arkansas.
His brother, Jackson Miller, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds out of high school in the 2020 draft. However, it’s likely that Aidan will go higher than Jackson. 
Miller ranks as MLB Pipeline’s 12th best available draft prospect, and Baseball America ranks him 20th. So it’s fair to say that scouts are a little bit divided on him, although he may well end up being taken before the Jays pick.
You don’t have to look too far to see the last time the Blue Jays drafted from a high school in Florida, as they picked Brandon Barriera with the 23rd overall pick in 2022. They also picked up catcher Sammy Hernandez in the 14th round, who went to Lakeland High School.
<h1>Aidan Miller’s tools:</h1>
Out of any of the players that we cover in this series, Miller arguably has the highest ceiling.
For starters, he has loads of raw power, enough to stick at third base as a middle of the order producer. Furthermore, velocity doesn’t bother him, as he’s already shown he can hit it hard. A large part of this is due to his impressive bat speed and solid approach at the plate

Miller does have some quirks in his swing, as he has a large leg kick and a hitch in his swing, but Baseball America notes that his hands are so quick that this doesn’t matter. Does that remind you of a certain Blue Jays shortstop who was drafted out of Florida?
The 19-year-old has a strong arm that suits him well at third base, and he is sound enough defensively to likely stay there. He’s an average runner that has slowed down a bit over the years with all the muscle he’s added.

<h1>Will the Blue Jays draft Aidan Miller?:</h1>
If he is available when the Blue Jays pick, absolutely. If he somehow falls to the Blue Jays, Miller would no doubt be the best player available in the draft.
However, that seems like a pipe dream as most mock drafts have him going anywhere from 10th to 15th. Still, weird things happen in the draft, so it’s worth it to bring Miller up! Baseball America being as low as they are on him gives us a slight glimmer of hope that he could end up as a Blue Jay.
