Blue Jays select RHP Alek Manoah 11th overall

At the eleventh pick of the 2019 MLB Draft, the Toronto Blue Jays selected right-handed pitcher Alek Monoah.
The 6’6”, 260-pound pitcher out of West Virginia has been described as the best college pitcher of the draft at times.
In 2019 he was pretty hard to hit, holding a 2.08 ERA and has 144 strikeouts through just 108.1 innings, walking only 27 batters.
With that production, Manoah earned a First Team All-American honour just last week.
At the highest pick the Jays have had since selecting Max Pentecost at the same slot in 2014, it looks like they are still trying to build out their future rotation.
He fits the bill as a very large adult son.

Alek Manoah (@Alek_Manoah47) was dominant tonight in Manhattan. 8 innings, 13 strikeouts, 3 hits on 102 pitches. He dropped his season ERA to 1.90. Plus fastball command, nasty breakers, not a lot of fun for hitters. @PitchingNinja @WVUBaseball @d1baseball #MLBDraft
