Blue Jays honour Donaldson with video tribute

In the first game of a three-game series that will no doubt provide a lot of fond memories for Blue Jays fans, the team gave their former AL MVP a tribute before the game began.
Filled with moments that won’t ever be forgotten by anyone in Toronto, the video reminds of exactly how special a player he was and still is.
During his time as a Blue Jay, Donaldson held a slash line of .281/.383/.548 through a total of 462 games. It’s not often that a player explodes in production after a move to a new team, but after Toronto acquired the third baseman from the Oakland A’s in November of 2014, he was able to have three consecutive seasons hitting for an above-.900 OPS, never having reached that mark previously in his career.
Through his four years in Toronto, he was able to amass a total of 21.6 WAR, placing him 16th among all-time Blue Jays. Fitting in between Devon White and George Bell is some place to be in the history of this franchise.
Before Tuesday night’s game, Donaldson was able to discuss his tenure in Toronto and mentioned being disappointed how things ended.
But right now, all Toronto has are those playoff appearances and pure dominance that was able to earn him only the second MVP in franchise history.
It’s nice to always remember the past success and history with the team, but also to see Donaldson succeed with a new team and admire his talents from afar.
