2 Blue Jays prospects earn Pitcher of the Week honours

The Toronto Blue Jays’ pitching depth has been a bright spot in the organization during the 2026 campaign.
While names like Nolan Perry, Johnny King, and Gage Stanifer have received many of the headlines for their work this year, Vancouver Canadians right-hander Landen Maroudis earned himself High-A Northwest League Pitcher of the Week.
Maroudis turned in a sparkling outing against the Hillsboro Hops during a 7-0 Canadians victory. Maroudis finished with a pitching line of 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, in what was his first scoreless appearance since April 26.
This season, Maroudis has pitched in 19 games (18 starts) and has gone 2-6 with a 6.23 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP. While those numbers don’t jump off the page, the 21-year-old endured a tough May and June but has bounced back in July, having gone 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP across his four outings. Across 18.1 innings in July, Maroudis allowed 15 hits and held teams to a .224 average while punching out 15.
Selected by the Blue Jays in the fourth round of the 2023 MLB draft out of Calvary Christian High School, Maroudis has spent parts of the past three seasons working his way up to High-A. For his career, Maroudis has pitched in 40 games (37 starts) within the Blue Jays’ organization and is 4-16 with a 5.88 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP.
Maroudis wasn’t the only Blue Jays prospect to earn Pitcher of the Week honours, as 18-year-old Alieski Torres took home the accolade for his performance in the Dominican Summer League.
Torres picked up his first win of the season after throwing five shutout innings in which he allowed no hits, no walks, and struck out four. The right-hander has looked strong in seven outings (six starts) and has gone 1-0 with a 0.95 ERA and a 0.58 WHIP across 19 innings.
Originally signed by the Blue Jays as an international free agent out of Cuba on December 4, 2025, Torres has looked strong in his first test within the organization, having struck out 15 batters over his 19 innings while holding teams to a .103 average.
