8 Blue Jays prospects set to participate in Arizona Fall League

As the minor league baseball season gets set to come to a close, a few players within the Toronto Blue Jays’ organization will be continuing into the fall. 
On Monday, Doug Fox of the Toronto Star reported that eight Blue Jays prospects including Jake Cook, Jake Casey, Aaron Parker, Fernando Perez, Brandon Barriera, Jake Bloss, Yondrei Rojas, and Gilberto Batista will participate in the 2026 Arizona Fall League. 
Jake Cook 
The 2026 season was Cook’s first year experiencing games at the professional level after being selected by the Blue Jays in the third round of the 2025 MLB draft after spending two NCAA seasons at the University of Southern Mississippi. 
Cook appeared in 72 games with the Dunedin Blue Jays this season and batted .250 with five home runs and 40 RBIs. The 23-year-old reached base at a .367 clip and stole 21 bases in 25 attempts. 
In the outfield, Cook spent time in both centre and right field and turning in a perfect fielding percentage and chipping in two outfield assists. 
Jake Casey
The Blue Jays selected Casey in the 15th round of the 2025 MLB draft, and the outfielder got into 23 games with Dunedin to close out the 2025 campaign. During that span, Casey batted .281 with three home runs and 14 RBIs. 
To open the 2026 season, Casey was assigned to High-A Vancouver to test his talent at the next level. Through 57 games with the Canadians this season, Casey batted .244 with 12 home runs and 52 RBIs. The 23-year-old reached base at a .373 clip and stole 10 bases in 12 attempts. 
After a slow first couple of months to the season in which Casey battled injuries, the outfielder earned Northwest League Player of the League after batting .391 with three doubles, four home runs, and 13 RBIs during a six-game stretch. 
Aaron Parker 
Parker has steadily climbed the minor-league ranks since being selected by the Blue Jays in the sixth round of the 2024 MLB draft. The 23-year-old has put together his strongest season since being selected, having batted .260 with 19 home runs and 48 RBIs across 83 games. 
Parker’s previous high for home runs in a season was eight, so the catcher has opened some eyes with his power display in the Eastern League. Parker has turned in an on-base percentage of .355 and stolen 12 bases in 16 attempts. 
Fernando Perez 
Perez spent much of the 2026 season on the Development List as the 22-year-old worked his way through some struggles. In six games (four starts) in Double-A with the Fisher Cats this season, Perez went 0-1 with a 7.41 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP. 
The right-hander struck out 13 batters across 17 innings and held opponents to a .211 average, but really struggled with control, highlighted by 22 walks in his 17 frames. 
With Perez not getting into much game action this season, the Fall League can hopefully get him back on track to the form he displayed in 2025, when he posted a 6-7 record, 3.04 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP across 26 starts between Dunedin and New Hampshire. 
Brandon Barriera 
Much of Barriera’s development has been stalled due to injuries he has dealt with since being selected by the Blue Jays in the first round of the 2022 MLB draft. The 2026 season was much of the same as Barriera missed over two months with injuries, but the left-hander was able to return to the mound with Dunedin near the end of July and get on a good run. 
In four outings with Dunedin in August, Barriera threw 13.2 scoreless frames which helped him earn a promotion to High-A to join the Canadians. Since joining the Canadians, Barriera has allowed eight runs (six earned) across 4.1 innings pitched and has been hit at a .364 clip. 
Across 12 starts this season with Dunedin before his promotion, Barriera went 0-3 with a 4.22 ERA and a 1.59 WHIP. The 22-year-old struck out 33 batters across 32 innings and allowed opponents to hit .248. Rule 5 eligible this offseason, a strong showing in the AFL could make the Blue Jays’ decision on what to do with him this winter more difficult. 
Jake Bloss 
Bloss just needs to pitch after being out of action since July 11 due to a teres major injury. The right-hander was working on a rehab stint in Triple-A Buffalo as he worked his way back from Tommy John surgery before going down with this latest ailment. 
Through 11 rehab starts this season across four minor-league levels, Bloss was 0-4 with a 6.18 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP. The 25-year-old struggled upon reaching Triple-A, going 0-3 with an 8.69 ERA and a 1.68 WHIP across five starts with the Bisons. 
Still ranked as the Blue Jays’ No. 12 prospect, Bloss should enter spring training with a chance to compete for a spot in Toronto’s rotation for the 2027 season. 
Yondrei Rojas 
Rojas has been a part of the Blue Jays’ organization since being signed as an international free agent in 2021. Rojas has slowly climbed the ranks, working his way from the Dominican Summer League to his recent promotion this weekend to Triple-A Buffalo. 
The 23-year-old allowed three earned runs across his lone inning of work with the Bisons after making 35 appearances with the Fisher Cats this year. 
Through his 35 outings, Rojas went 5-4 with a 5.53 ERA, and a 1.42 WHIP. The righty struck out 38 batters across 42.1 innings and was hit at a .264 clip. 
Gilberto Batista 
The 21-year-old spent the entire 2026 season in High-A with the Canadians after posting a 4.96 ERA in 2025 with Dunedin. Through 31 games (four starts) this season, Batista is 6-4 with a 7.86 ERA and a 1.74 WHIP. 
The right-hander has struck out 67 batters across 87 innings this season but has surrendered 19 home runs and allowed opponents to hit .307. Batista has picked up two holds and two saves in four attempts.
