Well here&#8217;s something notable, though I don&#8217;t really have a whole lot to say about it: according to Sony&#8217;s official <a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2017/01/25/mlb-the-show-17-retro-mode-details-regional-cover-athletes-revealed/">Playstation blog</a>, Aaron Sanchez will follow in the grand tradition of Brett Lawrie (and Josh Donaldson, and Jose Bautista &#8212; I&#8217;m pretty sure, though I can assure you I don&#8217;t remember), and will have his likeness featured in the cover art on the latest edition of MLB The Show.

I took a quick spin to Amazon to see if the game is already available for pre-order, and it is. However there are a pair of options: the <a href="https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01MEH6XLX/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=15121&amp;creative=330641&amp;creativeASIN=B01MEH6XLX&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=andrewstcom08-20">Standard Edition</a>, for $79.96, which shows stand-in box art that looks like what we see Aaron on above, and the $89.96 <a href="https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01MG10NGX/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=15121&amp;creative=330641&amp;creativeASIN=B01MG10NGX&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=andrewstcom08-20">MVP Edition</a>, which doesn&#8217;t show the art. I&#8217;m sure someone better versed in vid games than I am (i.e. literally anyone) could tell you whether Sanchez will be on both or what, but from a quick Google search it seems that different pictures of Donaldson adorned the boxes of the different versions last year, so&#8230; that&#8217;s probably what they&#8217;ll do again.
