Jon Harris has been killing it as of late. After getting off to a pretty rough start to the season — his second in a row at Double-A — Harris put together three excellent starts in a row for the Fisher Cats. It ultimately earned him a call up to Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.
Harris was excellent in his Triple-A debut. He tossed six innings while allowing just one earned run. He picked up four strikeouts, didn’t walk anybody, and got nine outs on the ground. This extends his quality start streak to four as he’s now scattered just two earned runs over his last 24 2/3 innings of work.
Elsewhere in this Bisons game, Rowdy Tellez hit a two-run homer in the third innings, Anthony Alford hit a two RBI single in the fifth inning, and Dwight Smith Jr. drew two walks in four plate appearances.
Sticking with Bisons pitchers, Sean Reid-Foley, another one of Toronto’s top pitching prospects, had a strong outing on Tuesday. He went six-and-two-thirds allowing one run on six hits while striking out eight and walking two. He has a 4.71 ERA at the Triple-A level through seven starts, but save for his really, really bad first outing in which he allowed eight runs in two innings, Reid-Foley has been solid. Four of his seven starts have been quality starts and he has 44 strikeouts to 13 walks.
