Shi Davidi’s piece at Sportsnet on this new bout of bullshit notes a near two mph dip in Liriano’s velocity — and that’s presumably using data that is showing pitchers as throwing a bit harder this season, based on the way that it’s measured. Which is to say: under last year’s system, it’s not inconceivable that the drop might have been even larger than that.

So… yeah.

Leonel Campos is back up with the Jays, and that the club is down a depth arm today, too, as they tried to sneak Casey Lawrence through waivers and he ended up getting claimed by their opponents tonight (and for the next four games), the Seattle Mariners.

Aaron Sanchez is due to start on Sunday, so the Jays were going to have to drop a starter from the rotation regardless, but not like this. Not like this.
