Betano Bets of the Series — Can the Toronto Blue Jays solve the Baltimore Orioles?

By Zach Laing
3 months agoWelcome to the Betano: Bets of the Series! We’re looking at the start of each series for the Toronto Blue Jays, who they are up against, and what we could expect from the next number of games.
The dang Baltimore Orioles. Ugh.
They’ve been nothing short of the Toronto Blue Jays’ nemesis and thankfully this three-game set will be the last they see of them this year. But up to this point, it hasn’t been pretty for Toronto.
In the previous 10 meetings this year, the Jays have gone just 2-8 while getting outscored 60-31. Yikes.
It’s a series that will be crucial for the Jays to show well in, too, given the tight AL Wild Card race.

The Analysis
The heart says to always back the Blue Jays, the mind says that’s probably not the smartest thing to do solely because of how much they’ve struggled this year. Betano clearly feels like this will be a close series either way with what’s essentially a pick’em to win the series outright.
What could help the Jays here in this series is their bats showed well in games two and three of their latest series against the Cincinnati Reds scoring 14 runs in those games. Game three itself saw power come to play with Brandon Belt hitting two home runs and Kevin Kiermaier, Bo Bichette and George Springer hitting jacks of their own.
