Baseball America released its newest Top 100 list today. You know what that means? It’s time to drink precisely one beer and get extremely excited about our large adult sons, Bo and Vlad.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the top Blue Jay on the list, coming in at No. 3 behind only Ronald Acuna of the Braves and recently-signed Shohei Ohtani of the Angels. Not far after Vlady Jr. is Toronto’s other hot prospect Bo Bichette, who comes in at No. 8.
Bo and Vlad. They’re incredible.
The incredible thing about Vlad is the fact he’s touted this highly and he isn’t legally allowed to drink in Toronto yet. The kid is 18 years old and it seems very likely he’ll be in the bigs before he turns 20. The incredible thing about Bichette is that 18 months after he was selected 66th overall in the 2016 draft, he’s the second-highest player from the draft on the list. The only player higher is Nick Senzel, who was the No. 2 overall pick by the Reds, who comes in one spot above Bichette at No. 7.
Anthony Alford made the list at No. 60 and Nate Pearson, the Jays’ first round pick from 2017, made his first appearance at No. 91. Alford was ranked No. 25 in 2015 and No. 59 in 2016, but has slid down the rankings largely because of injuries. This, of course, is Pearson’s first appearance, but he could be poised to skyrocket up the charts in his first full professional season comes anywhere near matching what he did in Vancouver last summer.
UPDATE: Lmfao, like, yeah. Okay. Cool. There are no words. Hahahahahaha.
