Could Noah Syndergaard please stop being awesome already?

This season a whole lot of digital ink has been spilled in this corner of the internet — and possibly even more words on a certain podcast (which will totally have a fresh episode up at some point today, just as soon as I can get to a better spot for editing!) — about ridiculously good Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard.
I’m sure I don’t have to tell you why that has been the case, but for the sake of completeness I’ll do it anyway: Syndergaard was, of course, traded by the Blue Jays to the Mets in the R.A. Dickey deal between the 2012 and 2013 seasons, and since then has blossomed into a goddamned monster, while Dickey has never lived up to the Cy Young expectations heaped onto him when he was acquired. Add in the fact that the Jays chose to keep Aaron Sanchez over Syndergaard — or so most people believe — and that, at least until this breakout season, Sanchez seemed surely the lesser of the two flamethrowers, and there were too many points of comparison for us to ignore as the man they call Thor was tearing the big leagues apart.
Fast forward to today and a whole lot of that has actually stopped. Maybe the Dickey stuff still lingers a bit — though, with his career as a Blue Jays starter winding to a close, who even gives a shit anymore? — but viewing everything Aaron Sanchez does through the prism of that other guy has become almost as pointless, with the Jays’ young ace now carving out his own strong Cy Young bid while leading a hugely talented club toward the postseason.
Yet here we are talking again about Syndergaard. And why is that? Because he’s a damn hero, that’s why!
Not only did he awesomely tweet this on Tuesday night:
Syndergaard also has a damn video, via the folks at SNY.com, where he addresses the wave as well!
Such a hero! WHY MUST HE BE LIKEABLE???
Remember, kids: the wave, it’s not lit. And if you must do it, at least quit doing it during important moments, you dopes!
Crotch grab in the direction of @gabehurl for pointing me towards that clip.
