The Jays got what they needed out of Alek Manoah yesterday with a tremendous day on the mound and now, they look for the same from Kevin Gausman.
He had a strong showing in his first game on the mound last week against the St. Louis Cardinals, but the true question is if he can get some luck come his way.
Toronto once again shouldn’t have many issues in the way of getting to their opposing pitcher as while Jordan Lyles showed well in his first start of the year, he’s coming off a brutal year with the Baltimore Orioles. The Jays know him well having seen him last year, so let’s see if the bats can heat up this afternoon in a little matinee action.
First pitch: 2:10 p.m. EST
Weather: 10C. 5 MPH NNW winds. (RotoGrinders)
Odds via Betano:
Moneyline: TOR -213; KCR +180.
O/U: 8.5 — o8.5 +100; u8.5 -122.
Vegas loves the Jays here and are expecting a low-scoring game.
Starting pitchers:
TOR: Kevin Gausman RHP — 0-1, 0.0 ERA, 1.500 WHIP, 10.5 K9.
KCR: Jordan Lyles HP — 0-1, 1.69 ERA, 1.1313 WHIP, 3.4 K9.
Lineups:
GAME DAY PREDICTION: Kevin Gausman quality start!
OBVIOUS GAME DAY PREDICTION: Merrifield finishes the day with one driven-in.
NOT-SO-OBVIOUS GAME DAY PREDICTION: Vladdy hits a double.

Need to bide the time until first pitch?
