Game Threat: Angels (50-54) @ Blue Jays (48-55)
Last night sadly ended the first Jays winning streak in a long time and chalked up another injury on the hell that has been the 2017 season as well. This afternoon they’ll look to bounce back and get in back in the win column without dads help.
News and Scuttlebutt
Last night Tulo went down hard rolling his ankle in the process. He was immediately pulled from the game and ended up on the DL with a sprained ankle. Recently acquired Rob Refsnyder will come up in his place.
Following what may have been his best outing ever in extra innings, Bolsinger hit the DL right after and is now back and ready to go. To make room, Chris Smith was optioned.
Recently Stoeten wrote about what it would take to renew your season tickets. Now it looks like doing so will cost an extra 17%.
Blue Jays
Francisco Liriano: 5.99 ERA, 76.2 IP, 10.1 H9, 1.3 HR9, 4.9 BB9, 8.2 SO9
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Yusmeiro Petit: 2.70 ERA, 56.2 IP, 6.8 H9, 0.8 HR9, 1.9 BB9, 9.4 SO9
The Jays made Parker Bridwell look like a superstar last night, and his numbers don’t look nearly as good as Petit’s on the season. Petit has an excellent ERA and nothing is overtly alarming in his peripherals, The Jays bats will need to be on today. It may also be the last time we see Liriano in a Jays jersey with the deadline just around the corner.
