Game Threat: Let’s Just Hope Nobody Else Gets Hurt, Tigers (60-80) @ Blue Jays (64-77)

Sep 9, 2017, 13:17 EDT
The incredible ways of seeing the Jays lose in 2017 continued to stack up again yesterday. Down by two runs in the sixth, the Jays had a chance to tie things up getting the two lead off runners on, only to have Kevin Pillar hit into the first triple play for the Tigers in over 15 years. There were some positives, however, including Richard Urena’s first multi hit game and home run. He’s rewarded today with the lead off spot as the Jays look to bounce back with a win.
News and Scuttlebutt
Not exactly news, but definitely worth another watch.
Finally, Josh Donaldson is absent from the lineup again, as well as Steve Pearce, who exited the game with an injury yesterday. 2017 everyone!

And now, the lineups…
Blue Jays
.@RichardUrena_ leads off this afternoon. Here is our full lineup pres. by @MajesticOnField. atmlb.com/2otPGEX
Brett Anderson: 6.42 ERA, 33.2 IP, 12.6 H9, 1.1 HR9, 3.2 BB9, 5.9 SO9
Tigers
#Tigers lineup vs. the Blue Jays:
Chad Bell: 5.98 ERA, 46.2 IP, 11.0 H9, 1.7 HR9, 4.2 BB9, 7.5 SO9
Despite poor overall numbers, Brett Anderson has been excellent through two starts with the Jays. Today he’ll take the mound again, and we get to see if the “non-tinkered with” version of Anderson continues to chuck effectively. Chad Bell will continue his rookie campaign making only his second start of the year. The first outing didn’t go too well for him, and hopefully, the Jays bats can make the second outing just as bad… if not worse.
