The Blue Jays fans were out in droves yesterday at Wrigley in full support on the road. Unfortunately, they would leave game one disappointed with the Jays falling short. Today, the fans that made the long trek will put their hopes of a victory on Nick Tepesch’s shoulders.

News and Scuttlebutt

How about a little prospect love this year to get your afternoon started off right? Bo ran away with the honors for the Midwest League MVP.
There is some kind of flu tearing its way through the Blue Jays clubhouse right now. Yesterday it was Osuna, today it’s Tepera down and out from the bug.
A roster move! Tim Mayza was sent back down to Buffalo following three appearances in four days. The fresh arm to take his spot will be fellow lefty, T.J. House.
An update on Aaron Sanchez as well, who is now throwing off of flat ground.

And now, the lineups…

Blue Jays

Nick Tepesch: 5.23 ERA, 10.1 IP, 10.5 H9, 3.5 HR9, 3.5 BB9, 3.5 SO9

Cubs

Jose Quintana: 4.53 ERA, 115.1 IP, 8.1 H9, 1.3 HR9, 3.3 BB9, 9.5 SO9
Only making two starts this year, Nick Tepesch has had one really great one, and one really, really bad one. His combined numbers are not good, walking just as many as he strikes out all while giving up tons of home runs and hits. Small sample size and all this year, but, I mean, he’s not that great. Jose Quintana on the other hand is. Even though the lefty has had a bit of a down year, his strike out numbers are the best of his career. The pitching match-up isn’t great, but you know baseball…
