Game Threat: Eyes On The Sanchize, Blue Jays (43-50) @ Red Sox (53-42)

The Blue Jays lost a heartbreaking game in a 15-inning marathon last night. Are you sure you’re ready to watch them again? If so, Aaron Sanchez is taking the mound against Drew Pomeranz. If they win today, Toronto will guarantee at least a split with the Sox. When you consider that they did that against the AL’s best team, the Astros, before the All-Star break, the team almost seems sort of impressive!

News and Scuttlebutt

The news from today is that last night’s almost hero Mike Bolsinger was placed on the 10-day DL. Cesar Valdez is up in his spot and Joe Smith will rejoin the team in Cleveland. All of the info is in the link above.
Apparently the Kansas City Royals are interested in Marco Estrada? I mean, sure, why not? The Royals of all teams should know how good he can be for a playoff run considering how good he was against them in Game 5 of the 2015 ALCS.

And now, the lineups…

Blue Jays

Aaron Sanchez: 3.94 ERA, 32 IP, 10.1 H9, 1.7 HR9, 4.2 BB9, 6.2 SO9

Red Sox

Drew Pomeranz: 3.75 ERA, 96 IP, 9.0 H9, 1.1 HR9, 3.2 BB9, 9.8 SO9
Miguel Montero will jump behind the plate, giving Russell Martin a much-needed day off. Martin got drilled in the hand yesterday by a foul ball, but nothing came up about it today, so it seems he’s fine. Josh Donaldson also appeared to be injured in the bottom of the 11th, but he’s playing again today, so that also looks good.
