Game Threat: Jays (45-39) vs. Royals (42-38)

Ahhh, the Trash Royals. So we meet again.

It was eleven months ago that Edinson Volquez called Josh Donaldson “a little baby,” adding that the MV-fucking-P was “crying like a baby,” merely because unaccountable shit-moron Volquez tried to take his head off (and Tulo’s) a few times for no good goddamned reason (in a game he’d have long been tossed from, had it not been for the ineptitude of Randy Wolf’s embarrassment of a brother).

The Jays took three of four of, as Donaldson deliciously pointed out at the time, was a team that “some people call the best team in the American League.” And so, of course, pissbaby Royals bloggers dredged up nonsense like the dumbest thing ESPN has published this decade, the Man In White story. LOL.

I suppose the Royals got the last laugh by inexplicably managing to beat the superior Blue Jays in a six-game ALCS in October, but… whatever. They’re trash. So, let’s… uh… trash this trash!

Scuttlebutt

Marco Estrada is fine! Uh… sort of. He’s taken multiple cortisone shots for his wonky lower back (specifically, the sacroiliac joints and facet joints), but expects to make his next start — Thursday against Detroit. Or, at least, so said the collective voice of the local media around five o’clock.

Alykhan Ravjiani adds that Estrada says he’s pretty sore from the needles and will know his status with more certainty in a couple of days. Barry Davis also adds that Drew Hutchison (who was, of course, called up in the wake of Friday’s 19-inning marathon) remains with the club, and will take Estrada’s place on Thursday, in the event that Marco is unable to go.

John Lott tweets that Estrada says he re-aggravated the back injury while swinging the bat in Philadelphia — which was the reason he left the bat on his shoulder in Colorado last week. He adds that Estrada called that turn of events “embarrassing,” and Ravjiani says that Estrada expects to swing if he pitches in Arizona when the Jays visit there two weeks from now.

“I haven’t done anything since my last start,” Estrada admits, according to a tweet from Arden Zwelling. “Obviously it’s been pretty painful. I got to walk today. So, I guess that was cool.”

Barry Davis tweets that Jose Bautista finally got out of his walking boot today. The timeline for his return from this current bout of “turf toe” is still uncertain, but that’s a good step — if you’ll pardon the pun.

Ben Nicholson-Smith tweets that John Gibbons reiterates that he believes Aaron Sanchez will be in the bullpen for this team at some point this season.
