Last night was no fun at all. Watching the Jays pitching staff get dismantled to the point of 17 runs against is just painful. One of the good things about baseball is that teams have the opportunity to get right back at it the next day. Toronto will look to do just that against a really good Houston squad. If they can’t bounce back with a win, hopefully, they at least limit the damage to the point where the game can be relatively fucking enjoyable.

News and Scuttlebutt

Mike Bolsinger has once again been DFA’d, this time to give 27 year old reliever Taylor Cole an opportunity in the show. What’s unfortunate about Bolsinger is you see an outing like the one he had in extras against Boston, only to see him turn around and drop a turd like last night. Oh well.

And now, the lineups…

Blue Jays

Marco Estrada: 5.19 ERA, 121.1 IP, 9.2 H9, 1.4 HR9, 3.8 BB9, 9.4 SO9

Astros

Charlie Morton: 3.77 ERA, 88.1 IP, 7.5 H9, 1.1 HR9, 3.5 BB9, 9.9 SO9
Marco Estrada may be having a down year but he has looked much more like himself in his last two starts. Estrada has posted a 2.25 ERA in 12 innings while holding batters to an impressive .163/.245/.256. Granted these starts were against the lowly Athletics and White Sox, so it will be interesting to see if he can continue this positive trend against a significantly more potent offense.
