For those who are still keeping track, last nights loss to the Pirates bumped the Jays to 4.5 games back of the final wild card spot. Today, the Jays will look to bounce back with a pitcher making his MLB debut and a line up that has a great looking top 4 and then….

The bad news just keeps on coming, and wouldn’t you know it it’s another injury. 2017 has claimed Russell Martin and his oblique as its next victim.

Pirates

Trevor Williams: 4.17 ERA, 105.2 IP, 8.8 H9, 0.8 HR9, 2.6 BB9, 6.5 SO9 
Despite not striking out a ton of batters, Williams has done a good job of keeping the ball in the park this year. He’ll face off against Chris Rowley, who is making his major league debut just two years removed from a stint in the US Army. Rowley has been having a phenomenal year in double and triple A and will look to continue that success in the show.
