Kevin Gausman is bad against everybody else other than the Blue Jays, apparently. The struggling Orioles righty managed to hold the Jays offence down for five-and-two-thirds innings yesterday, not surrendering a run in a start for the first time all season. Please, bats, for the love of fuck, don’t get shut down by Wade Miley tonight. We need this.

News and Scuttlebutt

Here’s something interesting in regards to Justin Smoak and his breakout season. Apparently Smoak is swinging more, but he’s swinging at pitches in the zone rather than whiffing at out of the zone pitches like he used to.
Aaron Sanchez’s rehab start went well yesterday. Apparently he’ll make another rehab start and could come back after that. Considering his pitch count ran into the 60s last night, why not just make that next start with the Blue Jays? J.A. Happ only needed one rehab start before coming back.
Good Canadian boy and 2016 MLB All-Star Michael Saunders is back on a minor league deal! Read about it up there if you haven’t yet!

And now, the lineups…

Blue Jays

Marcus Stroman: 3.69 ERA, 92 2/3 IP, 9.4 H9, 1.3 HR9, 2.2 BB9, 7.4 SO9
Wade Miley: 4.48 ERA, 76 1/3 IP, 9.8 H9, 1.2 HR9, 5.0 BB9, 8.1 SO9
Please, PLEASE hit Wade Miley. He’s a lefty, this lineup is righty heavy. He’s bad, this lineup should be able to hit pitchers who are bad. Make it happen!
