Despite incredibly impressive outings from Joe Biagini and a couple of September call-ups, the Jays fell short in extra innings last night. As a result, the Jays are one out of two on their spoiler tour so far through Baltimore. Tonight Stroman will take the mound in an effort to add another hit against the Orioles playoff hopes. Hopefully, Stro-Show gets the defense the Jays put forward last night but gets an outing out of the bats more equivalent to game one. 13 innings without a run is rough. I mean, not Kansas City Royals tough.. but let’s not go there…

News and Scuttlebutt

Today the Jays will follow the lead of Demarlo Hale.
This marks the 59th player used this season for the Jays. With the second wave of September call ups coming, they’ll be well over a franchise record shattering 60 in no time.

And now, the lineups…

Blue Jays

Marcus Stroman: 3.11 ERA, 170.2 IP, 9.1 H9, 0.9 HR9, 2.7 BB9, 7.3 SO9

Orioles

Wade Miley: 4.99 ERA, 137 IP, 10.1 H9, 1.2 HR9, 5.2 BB9, 8.0 SO9
Although Wade Miley’s overall numbers aren’t great, he has been fantastic of late. In his last six, Miley has posted a 2.76 ERA with an opponent average of .231. The Jays will hope for June to July Miley, who was significantly worse (8.53). As for Stroman, he’ll try to keep the Orioles bats silent for the second game in a row, continuing his excellent season.
