With a win yesterday in the Bronx, the Blue Jays have an opportunity to take their first series since… wait for it… they won two of three in Seattle back in mid-June. Woof. It’s been a ride. They’ll look for a series win with a new face behind the plate as Miguel Montero makes his Jays debut catching Marco Estrada.

And now, the lineups…

Blue Jays

Marco Estrada: 4.86 ERA, 96 1/3 IP, 9.4 H9, 1.4 HR9, 3.3 BB9, 9.8 So9

Yankees

Michael Pineda: 4.05 ERA, 93 1/3 IP, 9.1 H9, 1.6 HR9, 1.9 BB9, 8.8 SO9
Michael Pineda has been up and down all season. He’ll put together a good start, then get drilled in the next. If that pattern continues, the Jays will hit him today. In his only start against Toronto this season, Pineda was roughed up for five runs on 10 hits over just five innings of work in early June. In that same series, though, Marco Estrada was teed up by the Yankees lineup, which began his streak of six-consecutive non-Estrada-like starts.
