We’ve seen two different versions of the Blue Jays through the first two games of this series. Who will we see in the finale?
Tuesday’s opener saw Toronto’s bullpen and power-hitters come through in an impressive win. But on Wednesday, the bats went completely dry and the Orioles teed off late in the game to put things out of reach.
Thursday’s rubber match will see José Berríos go up against Kyle Gibson.
The veteran righty has a 4.97 ERA this season but he’s been great in two outings against the Blue Jays this season, holding them to two earned runs across 13 innings. Berríos, meanwhile, dominated the Orioles with seven-and-two-thirds scoreless innings in his only outing against Baltimore this season.
If the Blue Jays can win today, it would result in them winning a series against the Orioles for the first time this season. Baltimore has nine wins in the head-to-head while Toronto has three.
