Just take care of business and the out-of-town scoreboard doesn’t matter at all.
With the Rangers, Mariners, and Astros all in action on Wednesday afternoon, the Blue Jays will play the second of their three-game set at Yankee Stadium in the evening.
Toronto opened the series up with a commanding 7-1 win behind excellent pitching and home runs from George Springer, Bo Bichette, and Alejandro Kirk. Kevin Gausman will take the mound against swingman Michael King as the Blue Jays look to win their fifth game in a row.
Gausman is coming off of a difficult start against the Rangers in which he allowed four earned runs over four-and-two-thirds innings. He was excellent in both of his starts against the Yankees earlier this season, holding them to just two runs over 14 innings while striking out 21 batters.
King was used mostly as a multi-inning reliever during the first few months of the season but was moved into the starting rotation in late August. Over the course of four starts against the Tigers, Astros, Brewers, and Red Sox, King has posted a 1.45 ERA across 18 2/3 innings while striking out 26 batters and walking only two.
