Get the brooms ready: we could be looking at a sweep.
In fact, it would be the first one of the season this year for the Toronto Blue Jays, who’ve seemingly come to life this week riding a four-game winning streak into Wednesday afternoon’s game. They’ve had the bats head up, the pitching stay strong, and now, will look to down the Marcus Stroman-led Yankees.
The Blue Jays will send out Kevin Gausman to do their work for them on the bump, as he continues to navigate a rocky start to the season. He’s been blasted for an 11.57 ERA through his first three starts, one of which saw him allow five earned runs against these Yankees across one and one-third innings.
That start is bookended by a good start against the Rays in his first game of the season and another disappointing start against the Rockies last week.
Gausman, however, has had success against the Bronx Bombers in the past, securing more wins against them (10) than any other team in baseball. Let’s see if he can find that once again.
