After beautiful games Friday and Saturday against the Atlanta Braves, they and the Toronto Blue Jays reconvened to wrap up the three games series Sunday afternoon.
And boy, we were treated to a uh… game? The Jays rallied to win the game overcoming umping that saw 2.75 runs added in the favour of the Braves, according to Ump Score Cards., but it was a very ugly game from both sides.
Even still, it was great to see the Jays take down one of the best teams in the entire league. Atlanta hadn’t lost a road series all year heading into this weekend, so good on Toronto for coming through.
The schedule keeps rolling on today as the Jays open a series against the New York Yankees for the second time this year. The first series saw the Jays go 2-1 over the three-game set.
Toronto will open the series tonight with Alek Manoah across the mound from Jimmy Cordero, as the Yanks play a bullpen game. Tuesday will see Kevin Gausman go up against Domingo German, as Chris Bassitt squares up against Gerrit Cole Wednesday. The four-game set ends Thursday as Jose Berrios goes against Nestor Cortes Jr.
