Hail Threat: Jays (41-37) @ Rockies (37-39)

Holy shit, they are actually going to get this game in. I guess they really don’t want to have to come back and play it at some point later on in the season.
So let’s do this! An 11:20 PM ET start! Why not, eh? The piles of hail have all been shovelled and the tarp is off the field. Time to play some baseball where it has no business ever being played!

Scuttlebutt

Meh… I don’t know. Sounds like Cecil will be back when the Jays return home to face Cleveland this weekend. So that’s good!
I mentioned it in the Anatomy of a JaysTalk post below, but Gavin Floyd’s MRI revealed a lat tear, meaning he’s out 8-12 weeks, which — after you factor in the amount of time it will take for him to get up to speed once healthy enough to even start throwing again — puts his season in jeopardy. Not great news.
MiLB.com tweets about Anthony Alford, who has had a rough season in terms of injuries, but is back on the field following a concussion, and hit his first home run since coming off the DL. Worked himself a walk, too.
Wait, I thought this was Colorado, not Oakland. (Both parks smell like weed, so maybe the mixup is understandable):
