Are you ready for Jose Bautista to be big in Japan? I sure as hell am, the Chiba Lotte Marines definitely are, and it seems there’s a chance he is too.
With a hat tip to Blue Jays fan Daisy on Twitter, an aggregated news website called “Hochi News” had an article up that suggested the Marines are looking into adding the Blue Jays legend to their roster next season.
The Marines finished with a 59-81 record, putting them fifth out of six teams in their division and nowhere near playoff contention. The article, which isn’t easy to make out when translating on google, suggests that the organization is disappointed with the finish and they want to improve on stagnated batting.
Lotte is listing Phillies’s José Batista outfielder (38) as a new foreigner on 24th. Although I have investigated candidate spindle candidates that I can hit, Batista has 344 home hits and major achievements with the right pull hitter outstanding destructive ability. As soon as it becomes FA after the end of the season, I am planning to negotiate.
Fuck yeah, that works for me. I’m all in.
Bautista bounced around the National League East this year in his first season not with the Blue Jays in a decade. Hs started with Alex Anthopolous’ Braves, got released, joined the Mets, and then got dealt to the Phillies for their playoff push that fell completely flat. For the season, Bautista slashed a .203/.348/.378 line while hitting 13 bombs. He also played first, second, third, left, and right field.
Bautista would be a great fit in Japan. Not only would he be a star player because of his pedigree, but fans there would absolutely love his gritty, aggressive play style. I would also be all-in on following whichever Japanese team he played for. It’s a hell of a lot easier than trying to give a shit about the Mets. Also, get a look at this team’s mascot that I posted as the header image. Yes. YES.
