The Blue Jays are Actually Good. You know what else is Actually Good? Their farm system. The Double-A team is killing it, especially, which is an incredibly exciting glimpse into the future.

In Buffalo…

The Bisons finally have the wheels rolling after the beginning of their season was kinda derailed due to the frozen tundra known as Buffalo being frozen over. They’ve played five games and sit 3-2.
During their first trip through the rotation, everyone had a solid start except fro Deck McGuire. Chris Rowley and Joe Biagini each tossed five scoreless innings, Ryan Borucki allowed two runs over five innings, Sam Gaviglio threw four-and-two-thirds scoreless frames, and McGuire got lit up for six runs over five innings. Carlos Ramirez has tossed three-and-a-third innings without allowing a hit.
The stars of the team offensively have been Danny Jansen and Jason Leblebijian. Jansen is 7-for-18 with a homer and two RBIs. He’s walked four times and he’s only struck out three times. Leblebijian is also 7-for-18 with two bombs and five RBIs, but he’s struck out eight times. Rowdy Tellez is having a hell of a time, as he’s 2-for-19 thus far.

In New Hampshire…

The Fisher Cats are fiiiiiiiire. They’re 7-2 through nine games and all of The Large Adult Sons are killing it. Looking at their stats page is erotica.
Vlad Jr. is 13-for-36 with two bombs and 12 RBIs. He’s walked five times and he’s only struck out four times. Bo Bichette isn’t far behind him. Bo is 14-for-40 with four RBIs. He’s struck out nine times and walked five. Lmao, imagine thinking these guys weren’t going to pick up where they left off last year. Beyond them, Lourdes Gurriel is smashing, as he’s 12-for-37 with nine RBIs.
Though Bichette, Vlad, and Gurriel are the focus at Double-A, the Jays have a couple of high-upside pitchers who have sort of been forgotten after bad 2017 seasons. Sean Reid-Foley has been excellent through two starts, as he’s scattered just six hits and four walks for two runs over 12 1/3 innings. Jon Harris’ first start was good, as he allowed just one run over five frames.

In Dunedin and Lansing…

The Dunedin Blue Jays are 4-6 through 10 games and the Lansing Lugnuts are 6-3 through nine games.
T.J. Zeuch, probably the most notable pitcher in High-A, has made two starts. Over 12 2/3 innings, he’s scattered nine hits, two walks, and six runs while striking out nine. The most notable position player prospect, Logan Warmoth, has gotten off to a rough start, as he’s 7-for-34 in his first nine games with seven strikeouts and two walks.
A dude named Yennsy Diaz I’m not going to pretend to be familiar with is killing it in Low-A. He’s made two starts and has allowed one run over 11 2/3 innings. He’s walked four guys and he’s collected 14 strikeouts. Fuck yeah, Yennsy. Young Roger Clemens has a .931 OPS in eight games and Samad Taylor, one of the guys they got in the Joe Smith deal, has a .929 OPS in six games.
