Large Adult Son Update: Vlad killing Triple-A, Bo likely in line to join him

Let’s talk about Vlad, Bo, and some of the new Large Adult Sons acquired prior to the trade deadline.
Vlad Jr. has hit the ground running at Triple-A, which shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody. He was absolutely murdering Double-A and probably could have been in Buffalo a lot sooner. Through 16 games, Vlad Jr. is 15-for-38 with four homers and eight walks to just four strikeouts. He’s also sitting at exactly a .400 batting average between all the levels he’s played at this season. He was named International League Player of the Week for his troubles.
Speaking of getting called up to Triple-A, Bo Bichette should probably get the call to Buffalo sooner rather than later. Over the past month, arbitrary start points be damned, Bichette has been slashing a .344/.390/.563 line. For the season he’s got a .785 OPS, which is pretty damn impressive for a 20-year-old shortstop at the level. Also, save for a terrible month of May, Bichette has been producing at a solid clip at the plate. I don’t think it’ll be long before we see him make the jump to join Vlad.
With Sean Reid-Foley and Ryan Borucki now with the big league team, somebody is likely going to have to jump from Double- to Triple-A soon. I figure there’s a good chance that could be T.J. Zeuch. Zeuch has tossed back-to-back scoreless games for the Fisher Cats and now has a 3.12 ERA for the season. He’s only striking out six batters per nine, but pitching to contact is his game, so I don’t think that’s all too much of a concern.
One more note from New Hampshire… Where the hell did this come from? Suddenly Harold Ramirez is leading Double-A with a .317 batting average. After last year, it looked like Ramirez was a non-prospect, but he’s kinda putting himself back on the map. I mean, it is his third go-around at the level, but he’s only 23 years old.
After spending just seven games with Low-A Lansing, Chad Spanberger has been called up to High-A Dunedin. With the D-Jays, the lefty slugger has gone 8-for-27 with two homers. Here’s how the other new Large Adult Sons are performing since being acquired by the Blue Jays…
  • Forrest Wall, also acquired in the Oh trade, is slashing a .293/.354/.431 line with New Hampshire through 65 plate appearances.
  • Billy McKinney, acquired from New York in the J.A. Happ trade, is slashing a .180/.255/.280 line in 16 games with Buffalo.
  • Santiago Espinal, who was acquired from Boston for Steve Pearce, is in Double-A now and is slashing .296/.383/.437 in 20 games.
  • Jacob Waguespack, the starter acquired from Philly in the Aaron Loup deal, has made two starts with Buffalo. In his first one, he struck out 12 batters in six-and-a-third innings while surrendering four runs. In the next one, he didn’t allow an earned run over five-and-a-third innings.
  • Corey Copping, the reliever acquired from the Dodgers for John Axford, has tossed four-and-a-third scoreless frames for New Hampshire so far.
  • Hector Perez, acquired from Houston for Roberto Osuna, has made two starts for New Hampshire, scattering four runs over nine innings while striking out 13 and walking 11. David Paulino hasn’t pitched yet as he’s on the seven-day DL.
