The 2017 season has claimed another victim.
In the second inning of tonight’s game against the Orioles at Camden Yards, Marcus Stroman was drilled in the right elbow by a Mark Trumbo comebacker. The ball exited Trumbo’s bat at 107.5 miles per hour and slammed into Stroman’s body as he tried to react to the hit.
Stroman hit the ground in pain and remained down for a few minutes, clutching his arm. Acting manager DeMarlo Hale — who’s covering for John Gibbons as he deals with a personal issue — promptly pulled Stroman from the game despite the fact he was asking for one more pitch.
UPDATE
Accorsing to the Jays’ twitter, Stroman is day-to-day. The crisis appears to be averted!
