Tuesday was one of the best days in the Blue Jays organization in a while.
All six affiliates were in action, with four of them winning while two picked up a loss. A win streak has now hit seven games, while there is a team who is undefeated in the second-half of the season.
Let’s dig into the latest Minor League Report!

Buffalo lost the second-half opener

It wasn’t a great day for the Buffalo Bisons, as they fell 10-2 to bring their second-half record to 0-1.
Aaron Sanchez didn’t have the rebound game he needed, as he gave up eight earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched to bring his season ERA with the Jays to 12.44.  The bullpen had a better outing, as Paxton Schultz struck out four in 2.1 innings while giving up an earned run. Mike Mayers also gave up an earned run, but struck out two in his inning and a third.
Eric Pardinho’s streak of not giving up an earned run came to an end in his last outing, but Tuesday’s outing was better. He walked and struck out a batter in an inning and two thirds. Connor Cooke pitched a scoreless inning as well.
Damiano Palmegiani hit the team’s only extra-base hit, his 10th double of the season. Rafael Lantigua had two singles, while Leo Jimenez and Cam Eden each had a single as well. Riley Tirotta, Miguel Hiraldo, Will Robertson, Brian Serven, and Phil Clarke each walked once.

New Hampshire won the second-half opener

It was a different story for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, who defeated the Hartford Yard Goats 8-2 to win their second-half opener.
The Ryan McCarty Party continued in New Hampshire, as he led off the game with his fourth home run at the level and his ninth of the season. He also hit a double in a game filled with extra-base hits.
Devonte Brown hit a triple, while Zach Britton, Josh Kasevich, and Gabriel Martinez had a double. Kasevich also hit a single for a multi-hit game, while Rainer Nuñez had two singles for a multi-hit day. Other players with a hit were Alex De Jesus and Cade Doughty.
Devereaux Harrison had the start, pitching six scoreless innings with four strikeouts and two hits allowed. Braydon Fisher was the first out of the bullpen, striking out two but giving up an earned run in two innings of work. Juan Nunez struck out two and allowed an earned run in an inning of work.

Vancouver is now 4-0 in the second half

With a 2-0 win over the Hillsboro Hops on Tuesday, the Vancouver Canadians now move to 4-0 for the second half, leading the Northwest League.
Lazaro Estrada once again had a terrific outing, going seven innings strong with seven strikeouts, along with two walks and four hits against. That’s now 14 innings in his last two games with no runs allowed, bringing his season ERA to 1.73. Grayson Thurman and Conor Larkin each threw an inning with a strikeout.
Despite the win, the Canadians didn’t have a whole lot of action on the bases. In fact, both hits in this game belonged to Jommer Hernandez, who had two singles. Jace Bohrofen, Peyton Williams, and Hernandez each walked once.

Dunedin held on to win

With a 5-4 win over the Lakeland Flying Tigers, the Dunedin Blue Jays’ record in the second-half now sits at 2-1.
There were only two extra base-hits in this game, as Robert Robertis and Jean Joseph hit their second and 12th double respectively. The latter had a multi-hit game, as did Tucker Toman. Moreover, Edward Duran and Yeuni Munoz each had a single, while Duran and Bryce Arnold both walked twice.
Gage Stanifer made the start, and finished with a line of 3 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K to bring his season ERA to 4.64. Juanmi Vasquez pitched three innings, walking four but striking out three, while Eliander Alcalde pitched 2.2 scoreless innings. Yondrei Rojas picked up the save in his third of an inning pitched.

FCL Jays lost again

It wasn’t a great day for the Florida Complex League Blue Jays, who fell 8-0 to bring their season record to 8-30.
The rehabbing Kendry Rojas made the start, finishing three innings with five strikeouts and a walk. Ryan Watson gave up six earned runs in five innings and a third, while Lluveres Severino gave up two earned runs in a two thirds of an inning.
The bats weren’t much better, as the F-Jays totaled four hits. Braden Barry, Arjun Nimmala, Maykel Minoso, and Faruk De La Cruz all hit a single, while Minoso walked and stole a base. Pretty quiet day overall for the FCL Jays.

DSL Jays on a seven game win streak

The FCL Jays aren’t having a great season, but the same cannot be said for the Dominican Summer League Jays, who won 7-2 on Tuesday to bring their record to 11-5. They’ve now won seven straight.
It wasn’t a high-hitting affair for the DSL Jays, as Endry Reyes and Rafael Flores each hit a double. Yorman Licourt, Esmeiquel Arrieche, and both Soto’s (Juarlin and Randy) all had a single. Licourt reached base two additional times with a walk.
Silvano Hechavarría made the start, finishing with a line of 4.2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K to bring his season ERA to 4.63. Jose Loreto pitched a scoreless inning and a third, while Victor Espiritu struck out two batters in a scoreless inning. Danny Martinez struck out a batter, but gave up an earned run in his inning of work.
