Red Sox 5, Blue Jays 3: A long, slow, and painful death

That game felt like it was never going to end.

Things worth mentioning…

  • I don’t think Joe Biagini is a starter. I can see why they’re trying to make it a thing but he’s just so much more useful to the team as a multi-inning weapon out of the ‘pen. With Deck McGuire pitching so well for Buffalo, why not just end the Biagini starter experiment and let him play in a role he excelled in back in his rookie season?
  • The Jays had a lot of chances to score runs that game but couldn’t pull through. They were 2-for-13 with runners in scoring position and they left 10 runners on base. The worst part was either Kendrys Morales grounding into a double play to end a three-run inning or Luis Rivera sending Yangervis Solarte home on a double down the third base line largely because Morales was up next in the order and he likely didn’t figure the struggling DH would be able to pull through. Ugh. All in all that was a frustrating one.
