The meteoric rise of Ricky Tiedemann continues.
According to Scott Mitchell, the Blue Jays’ third-round pick from the 2021 MLB Draft will make the jump to Double-A and will join the New Hampshire Fisher Cats…
Tiedemann started off the season with Low-A Dunedin and absolutely dominated. He made six starts and allowed just six earned runs over 30 innings while striking out 14.7 batters per nine innings. That showing got him a quick call-up to High-A Vancouver, where he’s continued to put up results.
Through eight starts with the Canadians, Tiedemann has a 2.39 ERA and is striking out 12.9 batters per nine while walking 2.9 batters per nine. His last two outings have been a bit of a struggle, as he allowed seven earned runs over his last nine-and-two-thirds innings pitched in Vancouver.
Tiedemann’s last outing came on Saturday in the MLB Futures Game, in which he tossed a three up, three down inning on nine pitches.
Tiedemann turns 20 years old in August and is rocketing up the system fast enough that it really isn’t out of the question that he could join the Blue Jays as a bullpen weapon come September.
